It’s Meet the Team Monday time! This week we would like to introduce you to our Technical Manager, Michelle Walker!
Michelle joined the Seafish UK team early in February of this year and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the food production industry.
Michelle has brought with her over 20 years’ experience and qualifications including Lead Internal/External auditor qualifications, Level 4 Food Safety in manufacturing, HACCP Level 3 and Allergen Awareness.
Michelle has come on board to direct Seafish UK’s Quality Management system and to ensure compliance with standards such as those set by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Michelle will also be reviewing and refining our procedures on food handling plus reviewing existing policies. As part of this, Michelle will be planning how we can improve quality management systems and implementing improvements to systems where necessary.
Michelle started her career on the production line and has worked her way up through the ranks as Quality Controller through to Site Technical Manager. Michelle was encouraged to make the career change to Technical Management by a former colleague as she had such a keen eye for detail!
“I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve put in and to see my career flourish into what it is today. I’m excited to get my teeth into my new role at Seafish UK and help the team achieve the highest accreditations possible in food production, whilst also constantly working hard to be the best in the Coated Fish Production industry. This job can be hard work at times, with long hours, but it’s always worth it to see the rewards of your dedication” said Michelle, when asked about her ambitions as part of the team at Seafish UK.
