Seafish UK raising the bar in seafood quality and efficiency thanks to bespoke state-of-the-art steam deglazing system

Seafish UK is proud to announce the installation of a ground-breaking new steam deglazer, revolutionising the way we prepare and package our seafood products.

With a commitment to delivering the freshest and highest-quality seafood products to our customers, we have partnered with Hull-based manufacturers AFOS to develop a bespoke piece of equipment to enhance the quality and consistency of our offerings.

Using precision steam technology, the Air Glade steam deglazer utilises cutting-edge steam technology to gently and evenly remove glaze from seafood products. This process preserves the natural texture, flavour, and appearance of the seafood, ensuring that every bite is as delicious as the day it was caught.

We take pride in our sustainable seafood practices, and the Steam Deglazer is no exception. It minimises water consumption and energy usage, aligning perfectly with our dedication to environmental responsibility.

Emma Acklam, Head of Retail Sales, NPD and Marketing at Seafish UK said: “The seafood industry has long been characterised by innovation and efficiency, and Seafish UK prides itself on always been at the forefront of these advancements.

“This new state-of-the-art technology reduces processing time, allowing us to meet the increasing demand for our products while maintaining our commitment to quality.

“We are dedicated to supporting local businesses wherever possible and we are extremely lucky to have the likes of AFOS on our doorstep. We recognise that the strength of Seafish UK is intricately linked with the vitality of our communities, and we believe that nurturing strong relationships with local manufacturers and suppliers is not just good business practice; it’s a fundamental part of who we are.”

AFOS, a world leader in the manufacture of stainless-steel equipment for the food industry, is based on Wiltshire Road, Hull, just a stone’s throw away from Seafish UK’s headquarters.

Sarah Clark, Food Sales Director at AFOS Ltd, said: “With over seventy years of experience AFOS continue to offer dedicated solutions to meet the needs of both artisan start-up projects, to larger and well-established companies within the food industry.

“Our equipment meets the ever changing needs of industry and working with Seafish UK gave us a real insight of how a company dedicates time and effort to ensure that their products are the best they can be and how they value their customers’ needs.  This joint piece of work has really lived up to the AFOS strapline of ‘Perfect Results Every Time’.”
